“smart diplomacy”

Obama has to do as he's told (i.e. more of the same doctrine that's been going on for decades now) but he has to pander to his "image" which was sold to the politcal consumers. His "reasons" for his war on Libya are only as incoherent as Bush's reasons on Iraq and the reasons why are the same. Their excuses are bullsh!t. It's just the story you try to sell instead of letting the rubes know what's really going on because you need keep them feeling good about "their" country so they keep paying their taxes.

No argument here. I wanted to see a Kucinich / Paul election over a Obama / McCain. It's not that I agree with either of them all the time but rather, since neither of them had a chance of getting close winning they were more likely to be telling you what they actually be.

I remember hearing people say that they'd rather have "hope an change" over "end the fed" but they could never see that "end the fed" at least is a policy statement and "hope and change" is an advertising slogan.

Oh well, maybe closer to election time some "Libyan terrorists" will blow up a disco full of US service men or take down a US civilian airplane and then boots will hit the ground and they'll run with the old "you don't change horses in mid stream" line as usual.

I posted the Kucinich remarks just for the schadenfreude value.

Kucinich makes a valid point. For all the criticism of Bush on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, both were explicitly authorized by Congress.

Whose? I didn't notice any.

Surely you remember when Kucinich was introducing Impeachment resolutions to Democratic cheers?
Kucinich introduces Bush impeachment resolution

Where are those cheering Democrats now?
