... that I didn't even know was "a thing".

Disclaimer: reader discretion advised on this one.

In the “puppy2” video, which is more than 13 minutes in length, Richards is seen torturing and killing a blue Pit Bull-mix puppy in a kitchen. The defenseless dog’s mouth is closed with duct tape and he struggles as Richards strikes the dog numerous times with a meat cleaver. In the video, Richards chops off one of the puppy’s paws, then hacks at his head and neck. Richards is later seen severing the dog’s head and urinating on its body. In another video, described in court today, Richards steps on a cat’s eye with heel of her shoe.

Previous court records also indicated that during the videos, Richards is often scantily clad and wearing a Mardi Gras-type mask. As she tortured the animals, she engaged in sexually charged dialogue meant to arouse the viewer.

There are sick people in this world. Some are worthy of a bullet.

Well, there are people that like to torture people too - maybe the people that torture animals are also the kind of people who would torture people if they thought they could get away with it (an animal is much less likely to be missed - you can buy and sell them even if you like) than a child or adult is (though children and adults can be bought and sold too and sometimes are). Of course, that sort of person could get paid to do what they love if they would simply sign up with the CIA or maybe the intelligence agencies of Afghanistan or Ukraine where torturing to death of people who disagree with the government happens.
If the intelligence agencies won't have you there is still demand in organized crime - though, perhaps if you are not stable or discrete enough that could limit your usefulness.
And what of the people who watch? I've read Robert Hare's books on psychopathy and he estimates that 1% of the population are psychopathic which, given the US population of 320 million thereabouts, means that the US harbours 3.2 million psychos so there's a fairly large potential audience if you are looking for viewers that lack empathy for suffering.
But where does cruelty to animals end? I'll not embed the video here but for a lark why not google "Henderson Castration Tools". That's just agricultural practice - but is it also changed into something else when people watch it?

She was obviously training for a career at Planned parenthood
