Slayer's Reign In Blood Turns 30!

My ears beep

Ha! Yeah it's not for everyone I suppose. To many metal heads like me it is THE defining Thrash Metal album of all time. With this album Slayer influenced more later bands in all forms of extreme music, not just Thrash Metal, than any other metal band ever did including Metallica.

Slayer is one of the most influential bands in heavy metal history. Steve Huey of AllMusic believes the musical style of Slayer makes the band stronger than the other members of the "Big Four" thrash metal bands Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax, all of which rose to fame during the 1980s.

I should like metal, most of my friends are metalheads :D
I always ask them if it's music that makes my ears beep, and they usually say yes :D. I really have to be in the mood to enjoy metal or punk though.

REIGN IN BLOOD TURNS 30

Released on October 7, 1986, #ReignInBlood is SLAYER's third studio album which helped define the sound of the emerging U.S. thrash metal scene.

LOVE this album. This got me into thrash, unsurprisingly. Became a massive Slayer fan in my teens but never bought any albums after Divine Intervention. Less that 29 minutes of relentless, brutal thrash. Arguably THE definitive thrash album.

It *IS* the definitive thrash album of all time! It is my personal favorite album of all time. To me, it is pure perfection.

As for later albums, I own and enjoy them all. They don't match the first 4 albums but are generally good IMO. You should at least get their punk cover album Undisputed Attitude.

Haha, I stand corrected, THAT was the last one I bought :)
