Small earthquake last night

Sitting at the computer coming up to midnight and suddenly there was a big "bump" like something big falling over somewhere upstairs. I thought it was a quake right away but no trembling followed so I wondered. Twitter confirmed almost immediately that it had been felt fairly widely.

Just a little reminder that Vancouver is a seismically active part of the world - are we ready for the big one?

yes, a 4.7 or 4.8 tends to feel like a truck hit your house. One BLAM!

It's weird but over with quickly.

Pretty nearby my home, earthquakes are caused by drilling for gas, and no, our provence is not profiting from it at all

We get fracking quakes in BC but not around Vancouver. They seem to have them everywhere there is fracking - oddly enough. I didn't know NL had an extraction industry. Not to worry, it shouldn't last too much longer.
