So the answer to the problem of guns...

no surprise. some Americans just jerk their knees in that direction.

For the sake of arguement let's assume everyone has guns. You are in a crowded mall and someone starts shooting. The 200 people around you pull out guns. Does a Mexican Stand0ff occur? Or is the massacure worse than it might be otherwise?

The fear of being shot only exists if one wants want live. The failure here is people aren't stopping to think that often times the gunman (it's typically a man) doesn't want to live. No matter how many guns are out there if someone doesn't want to live and wants to take out a few innocents along the way it'll happen. There simply is no protection. A close example - Columbine - the two shooters wanted to kill themselves at the end. (Or so it would appear.) Early detection by a caring adult was the only possible factor that might have helped. If all the kids had guns they wouldn't care.

(Also note - My aunt lives in Aurora and about once a year I go visit her. I've been in that theater myself. )

frankly, I'd prefer all the gun nuts (as opposed to regular gun owners) just hang out in the same place so that if one of them is going to get wacko they just kill each other and leave the rest of us out of it

some of my favorite caregivers live there (oops) too and so dont the dr lady that lives in one of the rentals.... i personally spent 3 yrs in that part of colorado when i was at NORAD. my heart goes out to all of the survivors and family. as well as to those whose homes are still burning. yikes colorado has seen its share of heartache this year...:(

we, as a people, are gonna have to agree on some restrictions we can all live with. what works best is everybody makes a list of stuff they cant stand and we cross reference... unless the nra starts applying some logic and common sense to its arguement it will get agenda 21'd.... conform or be cast out....

ya know... the industry standard for determining who is crazy is the MMPI. how should we go about implementing it to all past, present, and future gun buyers? lol.... saw the guy from the brady center on colbert. says we need to implement these specific regulations regarding guns and in same breath says we should do it even tho it wouldnt have prevented this...

i know right? why didnt they just let his fucktarded ass into the gun club... dim wits coulda shot each other up....

wouldn't it be great of everybody had an atom bomb??
:D

I missed this on TV (I've seen so many doctors and had a few hospital visits because of my mother's sinus issues that my head is spinning and I'M not the one that's dizzy). Well, I'll go see if I can find any online videos. Anyway, this sounds interesting and may point to a way to find wackos before they start killing anyone

Can We Eliminate Evil?

ok, I didn't watch this yet but it looks correct

Colorado shooting suspect James Holmes was a patient of a University of Colorado psychiatrist before last week's attack at a movie theater that killed 12 people and wounded scores, according to a court document filed Friday by his public-defense lawyers.
The disclosure was in a request by Holmes for authorities to immediately hand over a package he sent to Dr. Lynne Fenton at the university's Anschutz Medical Campus.
According to Holmes' request, the package seized by authorities under a July 23 search warrant was a protected communication.
"The materials contained in that package include communications from Mr. Holmes to Dr. Fenton that Mr. Holmes asserts are privileged," said the document filed by public defenders representing Holmes. "Mr. Holmes was a psychiatric patient of Dr. Fenton, and his communications with her are protected."
In response, prosecutors asked for Arapahoe County District Judge William Sylvester to deny the request by Holmes, saying it contained inaccuracies including claims of media leaks by government officials that in reality may have been fabricated by news organizations.
Sylvester granted a hearing on the request for Monday, the same day that Holmes is scheduled to be formally charged in the case.

I thought this thread might've brought Lee out of the woodwork and we could've chewed the cud about the right to bear nuclear arms again.

we have routine mass shootings around here, pheasant season, deer season.... occasionally they shoot one another...:D
