22 States start petitions to leave the United States. Wow talk poor losers. The response?

I support one's right to self determination. Though a vocal minority hardly is sufficent to dissolve the union. If people want to leave perhaps they should show up at their local government offices and request to give up their Citizenship.

Strange that these people think a Representative Democracy should kowtow to their dictatorial demands.

wow, so many one hit wonders dug up from the wonderful world of the Internet. A communist? Do you even understand the meaning of the word? It's painfully obvious that you do not. I'd lived under a communist regime for 15 years of my life, then I lived in the US for about 20. After experiencing both, I can honestly tell you, that the resemblance of the right to the communist rhetoric is absolutely uncanny. Beginning with the campaign slogans, the brainwashing via mainstream media, the repetition of pre learned slogans and portraying of any other country or system as flawed and failed yet producing no solutions or anything which would resemble an answer to the issues at hand. What you should be appalled about, is the two party system. The US republic, which was once the pride of everyday Joe, is nothing more than a sham at this point. If you actually believe that there's a difference between the demoblicans or the republicats you're simply diluting yourself. This is freedom? The only freedom you've got at this point is what George Carlin once laid out pretty clean - smoking or not, diet or regular. This has nothing to do with one or the other party, both have a history of miserable failure. How do you take a country after WW II, which was the ONLY remaining place on this planet with a working infrastructure and a country which now owned the debts of majority of the planet and drive it to the ground in under 70 years? Do you really think that this is a job of a single party or a single president? This is 70 years of failure on both parts and the sooner Americans start understanding that, the better. Wake up and stop drinking the kool aid.

The federal gov has become tyrants. Not just Obama, the whole Federal Gov. I support this movement in theory.

You are just being a hypocrite since your "team" won the presidency. You will go 4 years ignoring the destruction of the USA through things like the NDAA, Patriot Act, taxation without representation etc.

GOP Pundits Select Scapegoat – Karl Rove

the rats are jumping off the sinking ship...AND cannibalizing their own.
As reported on Business Insider, there are those calling for the ousting and excommunication of the political strategist. One of the more vocal is David Lane, another GOP kingmaker:

Karl Rove presents a different problem — while [evangelical leaders] are politically naive (from my angle) — Karl is not, he’s as shrewd as a serpent.
:D it sure them long enough to figure out what the rest of us knew.
With the GOP’s steadfast refusal to understand the next generation, clinging to heroes and examples who were out of office or dead by the time they came of age, it is clear that unless things change quickly, we are looking at the end of the Republican Party.
and I say, good riddance. Americans need something better, more rational, moderate and humane.

ps. please take note the name Nathaniel Downes associated with this article. one of my buddies. :D Although I only noticed this after I had read it

In a way it would be good to have only one party. It would be more like having only independents. Then everyone would be voting for the candidates that they really want at the party level without having to worry about whether they are the candidates that can beat the other guys candidates.

Good in theory, at least, but still corruptible as the CCCP demonstrated.

Let them go. It's mostly the weak states anyway. However, there is always the danger that they will do something communistic like take their farms back from the giant blue state mega corporations that own them.

The energy state would be a loss - I think the big oil producers are all Texas companies, aren't they?

Another big complication would be where all the military bases and weapons systems are located.US government couldn't leave those assets sitting around in places that secede.

oh, people can make another party...or several. I don't care.

I never liked the idea that citizens should join parties, however. I don't believe that voters should "register" in a party. after all, a voter shouldn't have to impress anyone. it's the politicians who need to IMPRESS US

there's a great deal of reform needed and we should start right now. get rid of these stupid super paks, citizen's united garbage and no corporations giving money.
