totally amazing. I recall my fascination with The Red baron when I was in 8th grade

The SU-27M (now called SU-35) was advancement from the 1970s designed SU-27. Basically the Soviets had to manufacture an equal to the US's F-15. The F-15 was designed in 1967 by McDonald Douglas. I'll give the Soviets their due, that tail slide is awesome. Not practical in combat, mind you since modern combat is typically BVR (Beyond Visual Range).

I still think Canada should scrap the F-35s and buy a bunch of Su-35s instead. Even if they're no where near as capable, we'd save a boat load of cash and make a bunch of it back at the airshows!

Their next gen kit is very impressive too. They'll be fielding something in a couple of years that'll give raptor pilots pause for thought. Check YouTube for Russian stealth PAK T 50.
