We had a bunch of decisions in the recent past that seem to be all over the map (some of which are in other threads. There was the decision to ban protests on their turf, the decision to allow your silence to be used as evidence against you. On the one hand there was the striking down of the Defense of Marriage act and on the other, the weakening of affirmative action voters rights for minorities. Recently on patents, the Supreme court found that isolated DNA is not patentable. Well, that's one good thing. The Supremes are a bit more savvy on the subject of patents than the Circuit Court.
