SURVIVAL OF THE HORNIEST

I was quite pleased to hear when it was finally being admitted that Neanderthal DNA was present in human DNA. I have met people who wouldn't look out of place in a museum display of early European cave living, quite frankly, but my biggest reason for thinking it unlikely that we didn't have mixed DNA was twofold. The first is that as a species we seem to have great morphological variation and yet we are highly inter-fertile like dogs. The other fact is that the human male will hump anything that fails to get away. If there was the biological possibility of gene flow then human male behaviours would be guaranteed to make it happen.
