Swine flu hits close to home.

Just got a brief call that my nephew was diagnosed yesterday with swine flu. I take it that so far he is ok, I hope he recovers quickly. Poor kid, this sucks to happen to him right now. He is a junior in high school and on the football team. He has been getting a lot of attention from college recruiters and now he will miss some games.

Did they quarantine him? Chances are he'll be fine.

The closest I've come (aside from my sister's patients of course) is my girl friend's co-workers son. Although in the first round, someone from work had swine flu in their family and stayed home for a few days, but I never figured out who it was. I have a feeling it's gonna get closer then that for me though. My girl friend works for Molly Maid, meaning she goes into various peoples homes. And these people are dumb enough to allow you into their home even when they are very sick. The fact that she's at the prime age for the most severe complications does worry me. At least she's not pregnant. Or at least, she better not be! :shock:
