Syria will execute anyone who participates in terrorist acts or distributes weapons, state television announced Tuesday, in the latest escalation against an uprising which the United Nations estimates has claimed about 5,000 lives since March.

There will be significantly more after NATO is finished with them. However, if the west just took its sniper teams out and stopped randomly shooting civilians to cause social disintegration ... snipers was the start of the Balkan war, snipers helped get the Libyan war going, snipers have been reported in Syria, snipers were used against civilians during the attempted coup against Chavez - it's a fairly standard way the CIA uses to destabilize societies - and it was a reason that the DC sniper was a big deal. The effects of this low grade terror are well know and often used.

Canada has some pretty good snipers.
