Tea Party Zombie FPS Videogame

Red. This 'kill the opposition' menatality is as old as politics itself. I can think of more than a few racist kill the Dem Internet postings.

And as for KKK we've gone over this a hundred times if we've gone over it once here at Whyzzat. Yes the KKK WAS part of the Democratic Party. (Democrat party doesn't exist BTW.Though interesting to note you use a term of discrimination in your anti-discrimination post.) Then then 60s happened. Dems voted in civil rights and the southern racists fled the Dems to the Republicans. Not that either party doesn't have racists but the KKK no longer associates themselves with the Democratic Party.

I find that quite funny. Satirical video game - why not?

Of course you guys would. If it was Obama and his family, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, ACORN, Giffords etc there would be outrage in every liberal media outlet and you guys wowuld be screaming about violent rhetoric and encouraging violence just like after Giffords was shot in the head.

The important thing here is to condition the uneducated masses to see Tea Party members as lower than human. There should be shock and outrage about violence against "good people" on the left but those wacky Tea Party members are good huntin!

@Red -- and the Republicans are too shouting out about violent rhetoric and some are encouraging real violence against the person that created simulated violence. The Satire comes in using Tea Party tactics against themselves.

As for minorities and representation here's a good page to review: http://www.infoplease.com/us/government/women-minorities-110th-congress.html: While a bit old it's a listing of minorities in the 110th Congress. I couldn't find a page for the current Congress, but not much has changed. Blacks - 41 in House all Dems. Hispanics 24 in House, 20 Dems. Asians 5 out of 6 Dems, American Indian's 100% Republican (though 1 doesn't account for much). Women 53/73 Dems in the House. I also believe Dems have the only Muslim, here from MN. -- Overwhelming the Dems minority numbers in Congress out number Repubs minority count.

Show me where Tea Party has encouraged violence against this person.

You saying "using Tea Party tactics against themselves" is just making shit up, Whyzzat?

Sure we would.

Get over yourself.

Point me to a single example of me "screaming about violent rhetoric and encouraging violence," due to satire.
Actually, I'll save you the effort - you won't be able to find one because there isn't one.

And have a wee look in the mirror while your at it. There's only one person here coming over all offended at something that is obviously intended as satire.

...just like after Giffords was shot in the head.

Whit? Seriously, WHIT?

This is the parallel you draw from this? Good grief.

Would you care to explain just what in the name of sweet, suffering banjo-strings, some nutter shooting nineteen people, killing six, including children and pensioners, has to do with me finding screenshots from a satirical computer game funny?

Have you gone completely, {bleep} mental?

And, as your comment was a reply to me, I would appreciate it if you could explain how this pertains directly to me, rather than some imagined 'liberal' generalisation.

Not surprised, exactly what I would expect out of today's liberal democrat. Weird they would put a KKK robe in their though since the KKK is the terrorist arm of the Democrat party. I guess this idiot doesn't know history either.
FYI: This isn't a historic game, it takes place in the present day. KKK wasn't associated with the Democratic party at around the same era as the modern Tea Party movement or President Obama now was it?

You have a terribly short memory.

You're quite right Red. Although it is kinda funny, the thing is that we can expect from this game to see retaliatory games featuring the very same characters you mentioned. This game probably should not have included actual people like Palin.

But then, I guess it kinda plays into the whole right wing rhetoric that we should be able to do whatever we want and no one, not even the government, should be able to tell us what is right and what is wrong. Perhaps that's the real statement being made here; if you want the freedom to be a complete asshole, then you should also be able to take what you dish out. Wasn't it Palin that said something about "Don't retreat, reload". This kinda plays into that doesn't it?

The Tea Party is not associated with the KKK, never has been, never will be, yet pop culture pretends it is and the uneducated Obama voters eat it up.

@Robert

BTW you read something wrong.

Point me to a single example of me "screaming about violent rhetoric and encouraging violence,"

My point was not that they were encouraging violence, but rather the claiming "violent rhetoric" was encouraging it.

Of course it should not have used actual people. If it was on the other side, there would be a huge outcry, that is my point which certain people miss.

That's your attempt to answer how this pertains to me?

A thread in which our only exchange of any substance shows you up for peddling lies?

That's your evidence that I "wowuld be screaming about violent rhetoric ...."?

Really? Is that it?

Dear, oh dear.

Huh? Where you coming from again?

What's up? Did your reading skills desert you when you slectively quoted and replied to my post?

Missed this bit, did we?
Point me to a single example of me "screaming about violent rhetoric and encouraging violence," due to satire.

Even though you managed to edit it out?

Or, how about this bit, which you also left out:
as your comment was a reply to me, I would appreciate it if you could explain how this pertains directly to me

You responded to a post containing both those requests by selectively quoting and linking to an old thread where you were shown to be spreading lies, jibing that I have a short memory.

Now you want to know where I'm coming from?

I don't think this game is very helpful. Many tea baggers already feel persecuted and upping the persecution will solidify their group identity. Yes, it's fair to go after the more outrageously stupid political positions but it is not OK to overtly attack in a virtual aggressive manner the people who hold those positions. Many of these folks are earnest but are being used by monied interests - the people are being used against themselves as usual. Depicting them all as mindless zombies means never having to care what they think and that is not healthy for a functioning democracy and it just pushes them further into the arms of the con-men that set the movement up to draw the discontented away from real solutions.

Helpful?
Nah, don't think anyone could really argue that.

Doesn't change the fact that I found some of the screenshots funny.

Show me where Tea Party has encouraged violence against this person.
Many threads exist w/ pissed off Reps verbalizing threats. Not here on Whyzzat but on the interwebs.

You saying "using Tea Party tactics against themselves" is just making shit up, Whyzzat?
Recall early in the Obama presidency. He reduced if not removed gun regulations in public parks. Which was promptly followed up by Tea Bagger protesting in public parks w/ guns demanding reduced gun regulation. (Quite a bit of nice irony, anyway). IMO brandishing a gun in public is a much more violent act than shooting a virtual gun at a virtual representation of someone.
