plus, some stuff is made in Korea (South), Vietnam, New Zealand....etc - to name a few places that have made stuff I have recently acquired

That's not necessarily so - it doesn't appear to be viral hepatitis as the condition cleared up when she stopped using the tea. Therefore it is likely some toxic compound that is interfering with liver function.

PS
An old boss of mine got a viral hepatitis on a trip to Mexico. If he had timed it better and got sick in the fall then he wouldn't have needed a Halloween costume. "Gaunt Green Guy" was pretty scary looking!
