Egypt’s Al-Azhar condemns ‘insulting scenes’ of Jesus Christ at Paris Olympics​

Egypt’s Al-Azhar, the highest seat of Sunni Muslim learning, condemned Sunday the “insulting scenes” of Jesus Christ during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.

During the ceremony on Friday, a live artistic tableau resembling Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper" was presented, featuring a large table around which men dressed in women's clothing and exaggerated makeup were seated, alongside a transgender model.

These scenes “depict Jesus Christ in an offensive manner, disrespecting his honorable person and the high status of prophecy in a reckless barbaric way that does not respect the feelings of believers in religions and high human morals and values,” Al-Azhar said in a statement.

The Cairo-based institution warned against “the danger of exploiting global events to normalize insults to religion and promote destructive and disgraceful social diseases such as perversion and transgenderism.”

Olympics 2024: Men's Triathlon Postponed Due to Unsafe Levels of Fecal Matter in Seine River​

The city of Paris spent about $1.5 billion to clean up the Seine River ahead of the 2024 Olympics, NBC News previously reported. These efforts included an antiquated sewer system meant to hold the overflow from rainwater.

To show the river was ready for the international athletes, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo went for a public test swim on July 17.

However, water testing, which took place from July 17 to 23, showed that there were spiked levels of E. coli—an indicator of fecal matter—at the Pont Alexandre III bridge, the start and finish point of the triathlon events. The highest levels recorded were at least double what is considered acceptable by World Triathlon, NBC News reported.

If swimmers ingest water with unsafe levels of fecal matter, it can lead to gastrointestinal disease.

Prior to the news of the rescheduled men's triathlon, Olympic organizers canceled swim training for triathlon events due to the Seine River conditions.

Other events that could be impacted by the water quality include the mixed relay triathlon and marathon swimming events, which are scheduled for August 5, 8 and 9, respectively.

It's been reported on by major news outlets, but now the actual screenshot of it is circulating.

Producer said that's what it was before the event.
The morbidly obese woman playing "Jesus" bragged about it immediately after it happened, only to delete the post after the backlash.
The apologists tried to run cover with the gaslighted official response.

I am truly pissed off at this on SO many levels. I think the biggest insult to injury here is 1) the Italian boxer (the real woman) was forced to backpeddle any statements which said anything to do with the douchebag being a male boxer and 2) that the IBC chief's response has been that anyone who questions it is using "hate speech".... I'm so {bleep} over it...
 
Moon is a very good YT channel. Some of he early content had mixed takes, but the content in recent years seems dead on correct.

Belgium Withdraws From Olympic Triathlon Event After Athlete Who Swam in Seine River Falls Ill​

PARIS (AP) – Belgium’s Olympic committee announced Sunday that it would withdraw its team from the mixed relay triathlon at the Paris Olympics after one of its competitors who swam in the Seine River fell ill.

Claire Michel, who competed in the women’s triathlon Wednesday, “is unfortunately ill and will have to withdraw from the competition,” the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee said in a statement.

This "Olympics" only seems to care about 3 things.
