GE Expands New York Advanced Battery Plant

The plant will pump out ecomagination-qualified Durathon batteryproducts, which can last up to ten times longer than conventional lead acid batteries and store more energy in half the space.

Will be interesting to see how they compare against lithium ion batteries currently in use, not just in terms of storage capacity, but in terms of longevity and cost.
