The Doors' Ray Manzarek dies at 74

The Doors' founding keyboardist, Ray Manzarek, died in Germany Monday after a long fight with cancer, his publicist said in a statement. He was 74.

Francis Ford Coppola's masterpiece Apocalypse Now was and is one of my all time favorite movies. I can never get tired of that movie. And The End is an integral part of the reason why. The opening scene is a beautiful marriage of exotic scenery and music and at the same time very symbolic and foreshadowing. And really, who doesn't love all that napalm?
