The invasion of Africa

I don't know. No issue with Chrome on Android which is the only thing I've tried.
It's a Pilger article so it's probably available other places too. I'll check.

Well, I don't know if it contained and exploit or not, but it certainly crashes Firefox. I used Chrome to poke about in the sources for a bit and trapped a couple of exceptions in the googleapi ajax stuff but didn't see anything noteworthy - not that I looked hard or know what I'm looking for :)

Instead I just unlinked that url and pointed the link at the article on Pilger's web site.

Ok, finally was able to read it with firefox keeping itself together. John certainly covers a lot of ground in a short amount of time here. Unfortunately this article is heavy on accusations but not so much on details.

Here's one question for you: If the Western nations shouldn't steal Africa's resources, who should?

Africans. There is no reason that we can't trade with them fairly to acquire the resources.

Ok. If we are stealing the resources, who's to say someone else won't start stealing them once we stop? Also, are we really stealing them? And if so, is that Africa's only problem?

I think Africa has many problems and yes non-Africans play a role. But the solutions aren't necessarily simple or completely up to the non-Africans.

Do you have DEP enabled on your Windows box? I always enable it for all apps. I wonder if that's why it's crashing, something is attempting a buffer overrun exploit and DEP is stopping it dead in it's tracks. Hmmm.... Luckily I was using my work computer instead of my home PC. :D

Nothing intrinsically - but we can do it because else someone else would is not a moral defense.
Also, are we really stealing them?
Only if taking what is someone elses without giving them any of the benefits is stealing.
And if so, is that Africa's only problem?
It's the biggest one and what so many of the other problems derive from. We install governments that will cooperate with our theft. We encourage civil war if society become stable enough to cooperate against us. If we didn't keep disrupting their societies they would build a stronger society and that would be a direct threat to our ability to exploit them. If you keep them fighting each other they can't fight you.

Granted, there isn't much in the way of citations but given Pilger's track record, the claims made in the article seem entirely plausible to me. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
