So Hitler was coming to power in Germany and things are getting pretty anti-semitical. What to do? Sign an agreement with Hitler to ship Jews to Palestine.

This is a video that was broadcast in the mid 1980s, now on youtube but with a warning that the content is restricted because it may be offensive.

Interesting, but I assume you see a big issue here? Is the issue how Israel was formed?

I find it interesting that the subject is deemed "sensitive" by youtube so when you view it on the youtube site you have to click through a warning first. I don't know if the same applies to the embedded.

I think that maybe it simply conflicts with the mythology of the founding of Israel and the idea that the Jews are there because the land was given to them by G-d rather than by Hitler (or the British for that matter). It's a complicated and messy story of deals and violence but reality is often deemed "offensive" to the idealized ideas that people like to hold.

It was interesting how the guys parents initially felt like disowning him for writing the book.

no, embedding it does not show the "warning". At least for me.

I only get that warning when I look at the vid directly on You Tube

Not sure what they're so worried about, but I was thinking more along the lines that the fact they made a deal with Hitler was causing them distress. Remember that most of them were deeply traumatized and the appearance of making deals with Hitler may take away from his "monster" image, an image they would be the last to want to see softened. I didn't get the feeling that this somehow jeopardized Israel.

It could be seen as undermining the legitimacy of Israel - or at least the legitimacy of the idea that Israel is needed to protect Jews from future holocausts but that the setting up of Israel involved collaborating with the architect of the holocaust. A deal with the devil, as it were.
