Glitch my ass! I was trying for damn near an hour! I had important parcels to send out, that got screwed and I had to scramble for an alternative means of shipping. Do you know how many businesses rely on the Postal Service to conduct business? Tomorrow is tax day, so you have any idea how many people got screwed sending trying to send out over-night packages? The site appears to be back up now, conveniently after the final drop at most post office locations. We're not talking some mom & pop website, we are talking the largest business in the world, the US Government.

I can't wait to see http://www.deathpanel.gov

Actually yes, thank you for pointing out this fact. The USPS is a socialist system and it has failed. The problem is, the USPS has a partial monopoly. Letters and parcels going to a P.O. box may only get there by the USPS, other carriers cannot deliver to a PO box. Many companies like mortgage companies insist on using P.O. boxes.

USPS = failed socialist model
UPS, Fed-Ex, DHL etc = successful capitalist model

That may be so, but when I have things shipped from the US across the borderto Canada I refuse to use UPS. As far as I'm concerned, USPS is the only sane option. I loath UPS. But that's a Canadian's perspective.

Hmmm... What does the "P" and the "O" stand for there Red??? If you had a UPS Box, would you expect FexEd to have access?

No such thing as a UPS box or FedEx Box. The equivalent of a P.O. box is a PMB (Private Mail Box). PMB's will accept any type of parcel, regardless of carrier. Thank you for pointing out the USPS monopolist practices.

My point was that it shouldn't be a surprise that the postal service is the only entity that has universal access to a post office box. UPS COULD have it's own boxes but chooses not to.

The USPS has a monopoly on first class mail (your typical letter), most activity in a PO Box (or PMB) is first class mail. Why cater to a niche you are excluded from by law?
