Climate skeptics perform independent analysis, finally convinced Earth is getting warmer

Last week, a project called Berkeley Earth released drafts of its findings. The project was started by a physicist, Richard Muller, who had previously expressed doubts about the mathematical rigor of climate science; it received funding from a variety of sources, including the Department of Energy and foundations set up by Bill Gates and the Koch brothers. The Berkeley Earth team set out to analyze records of the Earth's surface temperatures to answer questions about the trajectory of the planet's recent warming that had been raised by skeptics and contrarians. To a very large degree, it discovered that climatologists had been doing a pretty good job after all.
I know that once you read this you'll finally see the light and want to thank me for setting you straight. So let me just say, you're welcome. :D

Results : 1 degree warming since 1950 is man-made (Indicates the hockey stick for the last 50 years is real). This decade is the hottest observed by man. And the urban island effect is statistically no different than the net effect of all stations. (Means it's statistically unconsequential)

Con -- this study has yet to be peer reviewed. This is an important piece of the puzzle.

Pro -- your quote lists those items very well.

I thought we had this link in another thread?

One of the things in Climate Debates that anti-GW tell me is the 'science' is all wrong. But, they rarely have any 'science' done on their side to justify an opposite opinion. Now a group that is anti-GW in nature finally appear to have done an independent check of the charges they've leveled. And they found out they were wrong.

Muller said:
"Our biggest surprise was that the new results agreed so closely with the warming values published previously by other teams in the US and the UK," said Richard Muller. "This confirms that these studies were done carefully and the potential biases identified by climate change skeptics did not seriously affect their conclusions."

Wow! Berkely Earth study with no peer review funded by Department of Energy, Bill Gates and Koch Brothers? Oh boy

Here, I hope this helps.

"Falsification Of The Atmospheric CO2 Greenhouse Effects Within The Frame Of Physics" -- This abstract is most amusing. Especially (A) that sets out to prove there's no relationship between Glass Houses and the Greenhouse. The simple answer here is DUH! Perhaps authors might use something that isn't a strawman. 'Greenhouse' is a commonly used term but clearly not the scientific understanding of how the climate works. The other parts of an abstract are attack politics. Clearly this one has a agenda, a failed one but an agenda none-the-less.

And if it HAD peer review you'd be complaining about how the peer review process excludes contrary opinions - so you can drop the peer review complaint as that is a red herring coming from your end of the field.

Also, you can drop the Koch brothers since they have been behind the funding of much of the anti-AGW campaigning.

The other two little niggles you can keep for now.

Indeed but that matters not a jot. The level of cognitive dissonance is beyond the reach of debate or discussion.

Before you start saying silly things, just remember that this report ONLY states that the earth is getting warmer. It doesn't try to explain why, so you can stay calm and breath slowly and everything will be fine.
