North Korea threatens nuclear strike...

I'm always slightly amused when a "rogue" nation stands up to the world police, but in this case, the North Korean leadership must have completely lost their marbles if they think they could pull this one off successfully.

They're probably not even aware of how many Ohio class submarines are parked just off their coast.

Btw, I wonder if North Korea will be China's al-Qaeda. They helped create this monster, now they don't know how to stop it. They also voted for the sanctions. Now I'm really worried.

Hang on - they said:
The North's foreign ministry said the military "will exercise the right to a pre-emptive nuclear attack to destroy the strongholds of the aggressors."
Isn't that just Korean speak for "all options are on the table".

Mind you, since they are already starving under sanctions and surrounded by the US military, yelling "come talk to us or we'll bomb you" maybe a reasonable move. When you've got nothing left to lose...

Might as well nuke them. Sanctions will kill them just as surely but slower and without the cloud.

As always, it's the little people who will suffer most out of this. How the insane actions of so few can so severely impact the lives of so many astounds me.

A preemptive nuclear strike may at some point make sense. Drop some tactical nukes on N. Korea's nuclear facilities and their ability to respond with nukes would be eliminated easily. The real problem would be the million man standing army just north of the border. I'd have no problem nuking them either, but I'd worry about the fall out. Not sure how densly populated that area is in the North, but Seoul is just to the South. That makes things rather tricky.

Considering the accuracy of North Korean missiles, if they aimed at San Diego, San Diego would be safe, however anyone living along the coast all the way to Vancouver, probably should worry
