I'm sure we'v visited this abomination before but the search term "tpp" just complains about being too short. Anyway...

It is ironic in a way that the government thinks it’s alright to have a record of every single call that an American makes, but not alright for an American citizen to know what sovereign powers the government is negotiating away.

TPP would be the nail in the coffin for free market economics and democracy.

yeah... thats the sad part... all those "conspiracy theorists" labelled as kooks... well except orwell... everyone agreed he was a great mind but failed to heed his clarion call to pay attention as our nation slipped through our fingers...

The County in MN where the Mayo Clinic is located did a survey of prescribed drug use. It was expected this would be high there, with the hospital and all. Turned out that 70% of the population is on 1 drug. 50% on 2. Most common drugs are antibotics (ok good), anti-depressants, and pain killers. LINK . This doesn't cover the % that use some type of illegal drug.

1984 certainly has the monitoring. But, it's also an overt oppression system. It seems to me that it's not really working that way. It's more subtle and Brave New World is better comparison.
