Twitter Users Are 'Idiots': Charles Barkley

"People who use Twitter are idiots," Barkley told CNBC on Thursday from the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Lake Tahoe, Nev.

Barkley, the sports commentator and retired NBA star, who is nicknamed Sir Charles for his outspokenness, lumped together people who were following James’ decision to switch teams with those who use [the social media site] Twitter and watch the reality shows Jersey Shore and Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

“They have no life,” he said. “I can’t take them seriously.”

Right on Charles.

Turning his attention from sports to another competitive world—politics—Barkley (an Alabama native) said he has no plans to run for governor of Alabama in 2014, as he previously announced, because he doesn’t like the current political landscape.

“If Democrats are going to vote the same way all the time and Republicans are going to vote the same way all the time, then that’s silly,” added Barkley. “I don’t want to go to work and argue with people every day.”
