Just as i predicted, last months numbers showing stability were bogus. Dec's numbers wiped out all those supposed gains and then some.

"A lot of states that had started to add jobs (in November) gave up those gains in December," said Sophia Koropeckyj, managing director at Moody's Economy.com.

Texas and Georgia lost more jobs in December than they had gained the previous month, she noted, while Arizona and South Carolina lost nearly as many as they had gained.

That is consistent with nationwide trends. Employers shed a net total of 85,00 jobs in December, the government said earlier this month, after notching a small gain of 4,000 jobs in November.

Hmm.. Some fake numbers get put out in Dec (for Nov numbers), i wonder why? Actually I don't.

Looks like it's time that the gubmint use that bank it owns to start extending credit to companies so they can grow. Oh wait, they got non-voting shares, didn't they?

Straight out, Obama has forgotten he's the president, and he's forgotten how powerful the Cheney administration has made the presidency. The US is still at war. If he felt like he could start a war on corruption, he could start a war on graft. Obama has the power to lock up anyone he wants on his say so and make them disappear. He has the power now to tap any phone he wants without a warrant.

He could executively order the bankers to hand over their bonuses (they didn't earn them, after all - their companies failed and only remain because they were bailed) and send any newsman who thinks it's a bad idea straight to the gulag.

And he could take that money and put it straight into the hands of Joe the Plumber to help him buy that business he wanted, put it into the hands of Katrina survivors, put it into the hands of people struggling to pay mortgages without a job by paying them to (drum roll) WORK.

He could put everyone on medicare right now - fight about constitutionality for a year and you see if the people won't fight to keep it once they get a taste of how much more money they have in their pockets every month - and how much more likely they are to survive illness.

He should take a page out of the playbook of the right and just start busting the place up so fast they can't fight him on every front. The moral of the last 8 years is that laws don't matter. Do what the heck you want and argue about it later.
