Video: Cop threatens to kill card carrying gun owner

Oh yeah, that cop is about to cost his city a lot of cash. Just because the cop was having a "road rage" type event, he couldn't hear the citizen try to self identify. I wonder if the policemen has begun to revise his resume? ;)

It is interesting to see what the laws are in different states with regards to legal carry and expectation to self identify. Thanks for the link Jim.

Wanna make a bet the officer had a fight with his old lady before his shift started? Or he just got off the phone with her? Dude nearly went out of control, and that is something is most unprofessional and uncalled for. It's one thing to be an ass to someone, what that officer did went beyond the professional level of response to the situation. Yeah, the driver was most likely trying to score with a whore or drugs, but there was no obvious intent to do violence or the threat to do so that would provoke a response like that.

During my days of state law enforcement (reserve officer), everyone we stopped, we were under the automatic assumption they were carrying, legal or not and dealt with them as such with no emotions. Even more so when doing land patrol (I was primary marine unit) in hunting areas with hunters using bows, black powder rifles, handguns and modern rifles. Those (modern) hunting rifles could pick you off 300+m and those rounds could go in and out of the body armor if they didn't go for a head shot vs the range of our 9mm (they since issued M-4s to the full timers). It's all apart of the job, idiots with guns is the norm. Getting jittery afterwards is another thing, but not in front of the dirtbag. Keeping both parties cool and calm is what keep things from getting out of control and that is the last thing officers want, things getting out of their control.
