Two attacks in Russia, very much like London attacks in 2005. Aimed at the soft target of public transportation.

"No one has claimed responsibility for either bombing, but they came several months after Chechen rebel leader Doku Umarov threatened new attacks against civilian targets in Russia, including the Olympics."

The Chechens are involved in screwing with Russia in other ways too, like in Syria where their expertise learned while fighting the Russians is much appreciated.

Messing with the Olympics is also something they’ve said they'd like to do and something that Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia threatened Putin he would help them do may not be able to stop them from doing if Putin didn't stop backing Assad.

What was the way he put it?

"As an example, I can give you a guarantee to protect the Winter Olympics in the city of Sochi on the Black Sea next year. The Chechen groups that threaten the security of the games are controlled by us, and they will not move in the Syrian territory’s direction without coordinating with us. These groups do not scare us. We use them in the face of the Syrian regime but they will have no role or influence in Syria’s political future."

Obviously the terrorists didn't get Putin's memo about how Russia is the world's moral compass. Or is this just the bad karma you get for helping a psychopath drop sarin gas on civilians?
The best way to stop making the terrorists look like the good guys is to stop comparing them to even worse guys like Syrian and Russian leadership.

Which psychopath helped drop sarin on civilians? Could it be the Saudi Prince? Could it be us? Did you read the Hersch article about how the US KNEW the rebels had sarin capabilities but chose not to mention it so they could pin it on Assad? If Assad and Al-Qaeda both had sarin and the US said they would militarily intervene on the side of Al-Qaeda if sarin was used ... who has the greater motivation to use sarin?

The terrorists are made to look good by our media and Assad and Putin are made to look bad by the same media. As psychopaths go, those two are no worse than ours.
Meanwhile psychopathic evil dictator Putin has talked psychopathic evil dictator Assad into destroying his chemical weapons - something which benevolent Mr. Noble Peace Prize Obama has failed to do for his own country, for his good buddy the nuclear and chemical capable Israel (enemy of Syria and Iran) and doesn't even really feel like discouraging his Saudi friend from continuing to fund terrorism in Syria, the Middle East and Asia and in Russia itself.

Yes, on balance, we're worse, but I guess once our guys have killed all of their guys, even though most of our guys are well armed Islamic Nutcases that hate us... then we'll have peace and need not worry about being exploited by not so nice people.
