Waco was a Clinton Job

What about Elian?

It was quite clear that the entry was illegal and his surviving parent in Cuba wanted him returned - very clear cut. If he had been any other illegal from anywhere else it would have been a non-issue.

For Clinton to go in with a SWAT team was typical boneheadism that is part of the militarized police-state boneheadism that has become normal for the US but it was a tactical mistake in a media heavy situation.

However, I smell Bush in there. The Bushes have a long relationship with Anti-Castro Mafia since the CIA days and it was a big part of their power-base down in Florida. What an opportunity to build up political capital in Florida and to embarrass Clinton.

I agre with you except implying Bush was involved. I think it is all Clinton. Elian clearly should have been sent back due to the father's wishes and the US relatives were turning the whole thing into a circus to be sure, despite my opinion of Cuba and Castro. That said the methos it was done was pathetic, it empowered that tyrant Castro and gave him someone parade about for years.

Am I missing something? Fluffy, your first link points to a couple of vids about Peter Watts. I haven't watched them because I'm at work, but the context doesn't seem related to Waco or Janet Reno or Clinton. Can someone clarify things for me???

Gah!!!!!!
I almost always check those links out just to make sure this sort of thing doesn't happen but I am using synergy between a couple of machines and sometimes the clipboard doesn't transfer properly - then again sometimes I have so many tabs open in firefox that it takes a while for all the bits of the UI to catch up and sometimes what you're clipping isn't what you're looking at.

Now I have to go into my history! *sigh*
Please stay tuned - we have a technical difficulty.

(Also, it kind of sorts out the people who check the links first and the people who just start shooting off their mouths, eh?)

---edit---
link fixed now

Ah, ok, that's better. :-)

As for the article? Hmmm... It's hardly what I would call proof. And reading it on a right-wing site (about an interview on fox news) doesn't lend it any credibility. It also doesn't explain why Clinton would want such a tragedy, unless you just assume everyone believes him to be inherently evil.

You pointing at me? I assumed the videos talked about it, but I don't have the bandwidth at work to watch videos. 128Kb/s iDSL is brutal!

8) Very clever Mr. Red. Quite convincing. Our organization would like to talk to you. Have you considered a life of public service?

Would you like a picture of the iDSL modem in my office? It is so old, it has a hand crank on it

As for public service? I'm a building manager and my tenant is the government, that is close enough to "public service" for me!

I'm going to gloat because I have FIOS
