For about 10 years ago the National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine was grown out of the Office of Alternative Medicine. 1998 OAM spent $20M. 1999 NCCAM spent $50M. In the last 10 years the spending has been over $2 Billion. What do we have to show for it? Confirmation that Acupuncture, Homeopathy (aka water), Ayuerdic Medicine, Chelatin, Reki, Yoga.etc. are bunk. The science does not support such alternative therapies. Of course if the science did support this crap it'd be called medicine.
OTOH perhaps they should be granted the Authority to control alternative therapies and shut them down. Afterall false advertising and product claims are illegal...
