The kind of income that Adam Smith says is the kind of income that should be taxed - rent.
There is no difference between the old system of the landed gentry collecting rent to let you live on their land and the new gentry collect rent on the money they let you borrow so that you could "own" a home/car/TV/phone/clothes...
