We've had many threads concerning the ongoings of weather and their relation to Climate. I thought I'd give an update here. April and May were ~1 degree below average. We've been launched into summer at the end of May and June. Monday was the hottest day in 2 years. Today is expected to be the hottest day in over 5 years. Minneapolis beat Phoenix's temp yesterday. June is currently 9 degrees above average in temperature.

Red how's Florida doing?

Dry, humid, hot and dry. Did I mention dry? I have not heard or looked for overall trends or averages, but it is likely at least a little hotter than average.

Here's hoping for rain soon.

Vancouver has had a cold wet spring. Our spring average has been down around 9C instead of the more normal 14C-18C. It's about the same temperature that our winter was (which was remarkably warm).

I planted tomatoes at the start of May and they are about an inch and a half high now! It's been far too cold.

The last few days have been sunny and warm so perhaps now they will do some growing - but I will be in France in 2 weeks and the poor little things will probably die without me there to water them.

We had the best April in Glasgow since, well, probably since records began. Absolutely glorious and well above average temperatures. I thought we were in for a great summer.

Alas, as soon as we moved into May, it started pishing doon and hasn't stopped since.

And, at the risk of coining an extremely corny phrase, it's a bit chilly for June. ;-P

The Twin Cities (St.Paul / Minneapolis) appear to have taken the record in the US for heat today. I think the offical measure was 101. My car said 104.

Yup that's Minnesota in a couple of months we've gone from -40 to 104.

Tomorrow is in the high 60s, thank goodness!

today it was 97° (F) in New York. and flipping humid. eewwww
and it's going to be the same tomorrow. which really annoys me because I have to travel to Manhattan.
It's unusual for it to be THAT hot in early June. Looks like it's going to be a hot summer.
