Florida seems to be popping up everywhere for me this week.

First some 27 year old crazy dude is running for President. Apparently he really wants to sue over the age requirement for the job?

Then it seems unattended orange groves are creating some new bacteria that'll sap all the oranges in the entire state. (okay a bit of creative license there.)

Some neighbor said how nice a guy's dogs were so he killed his own dogs?

A cop was reported flipping the stoplight on to try and capture supposedly illegal crossings on red?

...Where do you find sane people in Florida? Leaving!

Not that I am specifically defending Florida but every state has its share of strange people. My most recent issue with Alabama is my new governor, (Dr.) Robert Bently (MD). I was pleased with the former governor (overall) who could no longer serve due to term limits. The new guy is quite openly religious (not unusual in Alabama politics) and on the day of his inauguration managed to annoy non Christians in my state by making his silly comment during a speech. I don't hold out much hope for this guy...

To get back on the topic of Floriduh, I think Lee's right. Florida may be pushing all the media buttons, but I'm absolutely sure if you looked harder, you'd see stupid people everywhere.

Hahaha, I missed this thread until now

No need to defend Florida, we have a state full of idiots. That said, I do think idiots in Florida make news easier than other states. One of our paper has a Flori-duh section that seeks out such news. I'm sure that helps hit national news wires more than other areas who's newspapers tries to act as the chamber of commerce and keep such embarrassment out of print :?:
