Where is Yemen

Anyone know where that is?
Looks like a great place to have your forces if you are interested in being the world provider of security for trade. It gives control over access to the southern end of the Red Sea and balances the pirate laden waters off Somalia while giving a good base to project power over the Somali oil reserves.

All anyone would need is a good excuse to put some troops in there. If only some opportunity would present itself.

Ya, but why not just place your forces in Somalia itself? Plenty of reasons have presented themselves already, why waste your time with Yemen? And besides, the Us already owns Yemen.

Good points - and the US is in Somalia. Not overtly but they have people there and there is a nice little proxy war going on.
The US owns Yemen the way it owns Afghanistan. It has a government there but the people don't care what the government says.

Plus, I think, the Saudi's are just about sick of Yemen, so why not help a buddy out and take care of an itch.
