Woman chases down, captures alleged cellphone thief

Wearing a pair of thick wedges and a sundress, Vondrich chased after him.

Vondrich said the teen appeared to be out of shape and handed off the phone to his more nimble pal, who ran off.
“He was so pudgy and was slowing down, so that’s why I caught up to him,” Vondrich said

I was involved in not entirely dissimilar situation in Camden Town, London, about ten years ago.

Had my 'phone robbed via a not-so-gentle man pinning my arms to my sides, handing the 'phone to his girlfriend and telling her to run. After threatening to stab me, he waited till she had been gone a minute then shoved me to the floor and took off after her.
A combination of it being a new 'phone, the realisation that if he'd really had a knife he probably wouldn't have run off so fast and, probably most importantly, me being a little drunk, encouraged me run after them.
Turns out that, whilst the male could easily outpace me, she wasn't as fast as either him or me and after half a mile or so I caught up with them and was able to retrieve my new blower, which immediately started ringing.
