Spending campaign funds to attack a private citizen?

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/ ... 6606.story

The national Democratic Party unveiled its raspberry for Rush Limbaugh in West Palm Beach today.

A traveling billboard with the teasing message "Americans didn't vote for a Rush to failure" debuted in Palm Beach County before lunchtime, immediately causing a firestorm between Limbaugh and President Obama supporters.

"I think it's disgraceful," said Leo Balestrieri of Palm Beach, as he passed the billboard attached to the side of a truck parked on Clematis Street. "I think Rush is a good man. He has a right to his freedom of speech. . .O bama wants to turn this country into a socialist state."

Why not? He's a piece of human slime and a fair target.

Target? I thought you yankees preferred the term 'collateral damage' :?:

Everyone is a private citizen, including Obama. However, both Obama and Rush are public figures and therefore open to criticism.

And the point, Leo you frikken moron, is that the members of the DNC also have a right to freedom of speech, so suck it up you numb nuts. So you can dish it but you can't take it?

Non story, just right-wing whining. And that's all they do, yell and whine. Yell about how great they are and whine when you disagree. Babies!

I so love politics!!! All the DNC is doing is making more revenue for Rush!

Now that the White House has realized that they couldn't get any traction with the public (but they could with the mainstream media) they need to send the talking points to the DNC so everyone will be on the same sheet.

In all seriousness, this is nothing more than grandstanding by the DNC. They know it makes headlines but has little (if any) real effect. Rush on the other hand gains more listeners (if only in the short term as people try to figure out what is going on).

Move along people... nothing to see here.

I still think the Democrats are using this war with Rush as an orthogonal attack against the Republican party. I believe they know that not all Republicans like Rush's influence over the Republican party and the Dems are exploiting this to cause in fighting. The Dems couldn't care less about Rush's career, in fact, if his popularity goes up it probably helps their cause in the long run.

That's exactly what it is. In fact, if they can throw a bigger audience at Rush it gives Rush even more power and that will push moderates out of the GOP and further radicalized what's left making them even less electable by the next cycle.

But wait this happens all the time does it not? Parties spend monies for and against private citizens. Oh and while the party is public and it may run the government it in itself is not the government. Such action is fully legal.

Of course Rush is a good man. Because good men illegally use drugs and hope for the failure of the President. As for freedom of speech nothing being done prevents Rush from speaking.

Now as for Obama the socialst or Rush the fasicist well pick which unfavorable stance you like best. ...
