I just finished the book this video references

The Great Influenza : The Epic Story of the Deadliest Plague In History

The 1918 Spanish Flu = H1N1 flu

Researchers figured out which flu it was by digging up flu victims buried in the permafrost and sequenced the DNA
the shocking thing is there was nothing in the gene sequence very different from the current H1N1 flu that circulates today in Humans and Swine
( the current Human H1N1 flu is an escape from a Russian or Chinese bio lab in the 1980's )

My gut instinct says this isn't much worse than the SARS and MERS outbreaks. Quite contagious, but not that fatal. It somewhat looked like we were doing a "practice run" for something really more fatal in the future.

But the numbers are starting to tell a different story on the dangers you're in after you've got it. I may be revising up in the next week, or so.

That one is probably the wrong thread. But I've seen a few switches exactly like that. Amazing. The panic over Bernie is astounding. My man's probably going to turn up with another heart attack soon if this keeps up.

Now we return to our Pandemic disaster, already in progress.
