As stupid as it sounds, it's always been that way. That's how they got Capone. If you don't declare it, you get gigged for tax evasion. If you do declare it openly, you get gigged for illegal activities.

The trick here is to figure out a way to declare such income as legitimate, such as "consulting" or "trading" (like FB Marketplace or flea markets).

You could figuratively set up a flea market booth every weekend, then declare tens of thousands of income as legitimate sales. In states where marijuana is legal, you'd have to obtain a license, but otherwise, it's all about how and what you declare...
