Tracking the war hawks in the US

Sanctions are not war. "The US will not do business with you" is not the same as dropping bombs on schools.
Sanctions are, arguably, acts of war, especially when they are intended to degrade infrastructure and cause mass suffering in the population (dietary restriction, access to medicine, etc). They are basically the modern version of siege. Further, the US isn't just choosing not to trade with Iran, but it is forcing other nations (like the EU nations) not to trade with Iran or suffer economic consequences. It's not a shooting war but it is naked aggression. for whatever reason, Tump appointed Bolton and Bolton is doing what Bolton does and unless he has a cunning plan up his sleeve he looks like he is continuing to pander to Israel (he took Adelson's money after all) while Kushner tries to muddle up solution to the Palestinian problem. But... at the same time, playing to Israel has always worked for the Christian right, and doesn't hurt with a lot of the older Jewish voters that usually lean blue.

Iran is a rogue state. Obama's Literal air dropping of $400M didn't change this.Iran has promised to wipe Israel and the US off the face of the earth. They are shooting down US air crafts now, luckily unmanned so far. Iran getting Nuclear weapons would mean them using nuclear weapons.

Sanctions are mild. They still have plenty of countries to trade with. I don't think they have an Allah given right to put their hand in the US cookie jar for no reason.

The US is a rogue state - but they are also too strong for anyone to do much about. Iran is shooting down enemy military drones that enter its airspace - which is totally legitimate. The US has no right in law to be flying them over other people. They may or may not be enriching uranium to bomb grade but there is no evidence that they are and if they ever managed to build a bomb, just like NK, they could not use it in a first strike because they would be erased from the earth.
The "wipe off the face of the earth" is also a mischaracterisation. The quote attributed to Ahmadinejad references a quote from Khomeini and translates to " The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time."
The big danger to America and Israel if Iran did get a nuke is that America and Israel would need to think a bit harder about invading Iran. Israel alone has enough nuclear weapons to turn Iran and most European cities into glass.
The sabre rattling over Iran is still the same old crowd that was rattling them under Bush43 (and Reagan and Bush41 in fact) and they want Iran because it's still on Israel's wish list.

House Measure Condemns Trump’s Syria Withdrawal

Despite stark divisions over Democrats’ Trump impeachment inquiry, Democrats and Republicans banded together Wednesday and approved a nonbinding resolution by 354-60 vote.

The resolution states Congress’ opposition to the troop pullback and says Turkey should cease its military action in Syria. And the measure says the White House should present a plan for an “enduring defeat” of the Islamic State group.

THEN & NOW: Watch Former Obama Officials, Top Aides Declare ‘Assad Must Go’

The Trump administration helped broker an international agreement this week ending violent clashes between Turkey and Kurdish forces in northern Syria; with the President hailing the deal as a “great day for civilization.”

The resolution comes after years of Obama officials and senior aides -including Hillary Clinton and John Kerry- saying “Assad Must Go” on multiple occasions.

“The world will not waiver, Assad must go,” said former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“We agree, that Assad needs to go,” added then-President Barack Obama.

Watch just who gets angry about this. It'll come, and probably quickly.

President Trump Announces ‘Permanent Ceasefire’ in Syria, Eases Sanctions on Turkey

“I do believe it will be permanent,” said the President. “This was an outcome created by us, the United States, and nobody else…we’ve done something very, very special”

“Big success on the Turkey/Syria Border. Safe Zone created! Ceasefire has held and combat missions have ended. Kurds are safe and have worked very nicely with us. Captured ISIS prisoners secured. I will be making a statement at 11:00 A.M. from the White House. Thank you!” Trump teased on social media before the announcement.

New Inspector General Report Reveals Scandalous Lying By Obama Administration About Afghanistan War

Keep in mind, manipulating intelligence has often been referred to as a impeachable offense when the one being accused is President Trump (he hasn’t done so, but it would be if he did). Yet, Barack Obama was doing it throughout his two terms without a hint of accountability. The other factor here was how the war was being propagated as a profit mechanism. Even as the failures mounted, officials asked for more and more money, which then went into the pockets of connected businesses.

Ironically, while the Post (who released these documents) strains themselves to try to blame Trump for the situation, almost all of what’s contained happened prior to his taking office. Further, it’s no question that the President has been skeptical of the Afghanistan war and is validated by these revelations.

Today the UK put forward a motion in the UN security council to block the testimony of OPCW's first Director General, Jose Bustani to the effect that the Duoma gas attack was not a gas attack by the Syrian government. The motion carried (6 yays, 3 nays, 6 abstentions).
The president of the Security Council expressed his deep disappointment and surprise at the precedent of blocking a witness invited by the president, and then proceeded to read Bastani's statement into the record.
