33% reject evolution

It seems metalman never took a science class. Pity, because if he did he'd know that a single reading doesn't make a trend. No, in science class they teach you to plot all the readings and then draw a line through them to define the trend. Sorta like this:

Its a Chart! of something!
I guess March and September have to do with the equinox , and something is being measured

Correlation does not equal Causation

Being a ship researching climate was stuck in the ice is seen as ironical only by those that are ignorant of the scientifically definitional differences between weather and climate.

Also, people in North America seem to neglect that the Southern Hemisphere is having summer. What is that looking like? Well, it's some of the hottest ever - http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/vi...ures-set-to-soar/story-fni0fit3-1226794993162

So as we enjoy the coldest temps in 40 years here in North America the bit of data that these cold snaps are less frequent and shorter than 100 years ago speaks to a warming climate. Climate is Warming. Period. Now, if we want to argue about the exact causes, let's bring out the science.

The problem is that when you want to talk about causes they'll say it's not really happening and when you try to show them that it is happening they tell you that it's not their fault.

Jon Stewart to Fox News’ Varney: ‘Your f*cking opinion is not as valid as scientific fact’

“There you have it: ‘War on Christmas’ is over; ‘war on carbon’ begins,” Stewart said. “Global warming: Just one more liberal conspiracy. Because even though there is a great deal of scientific data establishing climate change trends. Even though many of the models of global warming predict more extremes of weather — not just warming — apparently decades of peer-reviewed scientific study can be, like a ficus plant, destroyed in one cold weekend.”

Temperature in one place just tells you about what the temperature is in one place. Is that too tautological? It just is what it is. Indeed many places that don't often see this kind of cold are getting hammered. At the time I'm writing this, Montgomery Alabama is at -8C, Richmond Virginia -9C, Topeka Kansas -7C, Washington DC -11C, Little Rock Arkansas -6C, Louisville Kentucky -14C, Jackson Mississippi -6C, Atlanta, Georgia -10C.

Meanwhile Pensacola Florida is a relatively balmy -4C but then again, so are Anchorage Alaska, Whitehorse Yukon Territory, and Nuuk Greenland.

Current warmest spot in Alaska at the moment is Sitka, at 6C.

So - in Americanese temperatures right now:

Pensacola Florida 25F
Sitka Alaska 43F

Btw, I still get a kick from the fact that Winnipeg was colder than the warmest point on Mars yesterday.

Quit being so darned obtuse. What the chart is about isn't important really because my point wasn't about the data in the chart. It was about how charts are to be used. You seem to think one cold week in the US debunks a theory based on decades of global research. Far from it. If you wanna debunk something that hefty you're gonna have to come up with arguments a little bit bigger than the size of your stretched out sphincter.

when I was in Grad school the first "LAW" was NEVER THROW OUT YOUR RAW DATA.

seriously, wtf????

Rigt, but what if you think you still have your data. Wat if you even know what drawer it's in, sitting there all on 3 1/2" floppies oron a zip drive ... or burned to CD. Is your data really still there, and do you still own anything that could read it?

sloppy.

anyway, to get back to evolution, here's a nice video that should answer questions about evolution:
