A Song A Day By Active Whyzzat Members.

Yeesh, has it been 5 days? Crap work week.

This is a band name you all probably know, but maybe not this song.

Wayne probably knows this one, but otherwise of the current group maybe not. Without the visuals of their look, what do you think?

Busy work week for me too. I'm at work now so can't listen but will give it a spin later when I get home.

-EDIT-
Not a band I was ever into but I didn't hate them either and I think I have heard this one before. Has a bit of a Guns n Roses sound to my ear.

I went to see this lot last night for what must be at least the tenth time. This song couldn't be more appropriate for how I feel right now, given my flu-like hangover. :pint:

Busy but productive weekend. Felt like going another direction today, but will hold off the crazy stuff for now. Here's a mainstream pick, but a deeper cut. When I was a snot nose kid who didn't know better, I thought I liked Country music. Then I found Van Halen. VH is rightly known for Eddie's insane intrigue electric guitar work, but original early Van Halen was a lot more than just that. If you only know VH from the radio hits, you probably don't know songs like this.

There'll probably never be another band like Van Halen :(

You may have heard it before. It was a single with an official video. It's not one of their biggest hits, but it was out there back in the day. To me Twisted Sister was a one album wonder, but it was an incredibly good album.

They had a couple other good singles here and there, but the rest was mostly rubbish. This is the album they've been able to milk for 40 year. A bit of an aside, I posted the song without the official video to avoid the visuals. They never bothered me, but it was a hinderance in their early days. Here's them on BBC TV (?) early on with Lemmy from Motorhead and the crowd was pretty dead. Dee wipes much of his makeup off and they liven up a bit.

Dee Snider back then was a hyper intelligent person. See his testimony at the PMRC Congress hearings. Not so much in recent years.

Indeed, I was not expecting that. Lovely. :pint:

While I'm relatively new to funk, I own this vinyl and it is amazing. This song, the title track, is over 10 minutes long, but trust me the payoff is worth it. It was released in 1971, before I was born.

I've got that one too  A couple of years ago I attended a performance of Bootsy Collins. He still had it in him :cool::cool:

When I was first introduced to this band in the mid 90s, I didn't know what to think. I thought they were fine, but their mix of goofy campiness and depressingly serious topics was a bit much. I get it all now and have for a couple decades. This can be a depressing song, only listen in a right mindset.

This song came out in 1999. Peter Steele himself passed in 2010.

A bit off topic but any time I think of Bootsy Collins it reminds me of an old scene from The Mighty Boosh, which was a surrealist comedy show from years back.
"You say you're a musician but your problem is you ain't got the funk."

Heading out to the old fogies dance club tonight and there's a good chance this old Northern Soul classic will get an airing:

It didn't but this 80s classic pop song did:
How about that? Go to an Oldies dance club and hear 80's music?

I refuse to call 80s music "Oldies". That genre should stick with the original era. I like some oldies, but I have to be in the right mood. That Frankie Valli song didn't do anything for me, but this 80's tune was pretty cool.

Back on the subject of punk, I did like the heavier stuff back in the day (80s). I had this album on cassette back then.
