Way to shut off debate as usual with the over the topness. And you know your being a dick and you continue to do it. The majority of Americans are left of the "liberal" media. You've made your thread about left/right again instead of about Obama or what he said.

You talk of shutting off debate in the same breath as a personal insult? Gee!

What is there to talk about what Obama said? He clearly said nothing of importance when it comes to the Gulf spill. What is his plan for the spill? He doesn't have one. He will talk to BP today for the first time? That's it? What day is this?

Easy there McDeath. You have been out in the Sun too long, and are beginning to have a melt down. Get a cold rag and place it on the left side of your head. :slingshot:

I didn't see the speech, but from what I could gather, those Red would label as "the far left" seemed disappointed that Obama isn't taking the opportunity to redefine America's energy policy. Like dumping more cash on alternative energy.

As for the rest of it, let's face it, the spill has been escalating since day 1. At first there was no spill. Then a small one. Then they'd just lower a huge box over the leak. Then top kill it. Then cap it. But it just keeps getting worse. It didn't look so bad on day 1. On day 57, it looks pretty bad and it'll probably look even worse on day 87. I think Obama is handling it the way he should, the disaster is unavoidable at this stage and we're at the mercy of BP. So long as BP is held accountable, people are compensated and the government reviews energy policy at some point then that's all we can expect from him.

Meanwhile, what have Republicans said about the spill? Some have said it's not that big a deal as spill naturally occur anyway. Other say there's no need to stop deep sea drilling. All I can say is I'm glad Obama doesn't listen to Republicans.

No personal insult there. However, if you took it as one then it may be a case of a shoe fitting. It was merely an observation about your provocative behaviour rather than any claim about you as a person.

There is nothing to say but you could have let it be that instead of trying to introduce a false dichotomy.

Easy there McDeath. You have been out in the Sun too long, and are beginning to have a melt down.

For example - public health care. As an issue it has polled 60% and over in favour for decades with the American public (that's the whole public not just the guys at your local diner). Can that statistic ever get any press? In a liberal media it could be a top story every month until it happens. It isn't and it won't be. Liberals may work in the media but they don't own it and they can only continue to work there if they do as they are told.

those fake republicans just don't like a president who is reasonable and tries to speak intelligently.

let's face it, they don't like an 'uppity negro' (and pardon me for putting it that way, but it's how they think)

Even the far left is finished.

far left?

:roflmao:

Compared to the rest of the so-called Western democracies, Obama is right of centre.

Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, R-Ga called the Obamas "uppity", Sept '08.

Also in that same story, Rep. Geoff Davis, Republican of Kentucky calls Obama "boy".

Ahh liberals should steal the right wing fasicsm slogans.

This is the President of the USA you must support him. Either you are with us or against us. If you don't like it you are free to move to another Country.

I'm sure the right wingers see the absurbity when the shoe's on the other foot.

:roflmao:

I would be satisfied if President Obama would move to his choice of Socialist countries (at least temporarily) and enjoy that lifestyle himself for a while as an ordinary worker.

Maybe he would invite along Cecilia, Faethor, and McDeath so they could enjoy the comforts of having only one choice of political parties to vote for, walking to work and bicycling to the free health care clinic 40 miles away because they can't find gas for their

Pity the left can't see the absurdity of the path Obama is taking the cointry!

Ha, I just saw "cointry"! Yeah, that too.

It appears Obama's speech may have been too complex for the majority of Americans. LINK

Don't talk too loudly "faethor", else someone might run a grammar check on all the posts, and point out the "absurbity" of everyone's edumacation.

Of course some will say that my post just proves that "i'm" not a "Democratic" either.

Grammatical correctness is not the language of "cecilia", and a lot of others. "well", no surprise there. "americans" are shockingly undereducated.
