Some of the details coming out are absolutely nuts:Worst one of these for a wee while. 16 dead and counting:
At least 16 feared dead in Maine shooting with suspect at large
The suspect, then 13, was a possible suspect in connection with threats made online last year using photos of guns, the FBI’s Atlanta field office said in a joint statement with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Link isn't working for me. I'm guessing it's this story but as it's mass shooting number 382 this year so far, it's hard to know for sure:
You an have high gun ownership and peace and low gun ownership and mass killings. Taking away guns could be seen as harm reduction - but it's really just fighting the symptoms. Here's a neat little site that tracks data: https://www.chds.us/sssc/charts-graphs/Link isn't working for me. I'm guessing it's this story but as it's mass shooting number 382 this year so far, it's hard to know for sure:
US school shooting suspect, 14, questioned about threats last year
Anyway, obligatory Onion headlines:
We have that in Scotland too (falls under the "inclusion" banner here). As idiotic as I agree such "equity" is, thankfully most kids here would have extreme difficulty sourcing a firearm. The department of education has some blame to shoulder as it insists on putting everyone together regardless of academic ability or mental stability (equity)
and while it's not the first time parents have been charged for being idiots in allowing their koo koo kids to walk around with deadly weapons, it should definitely not be the last. This has taken an interesting plot twist:
Father of US school shooting suspect charged with murder
The father of a 14-year-old boy accused of killing four people at a high school in the US state of Georgia has been arrested and charged with murder.

Officials said on Thursday evening the charges were directly connected to his son's actions and "allowing him to possess a weapon".
Not Scotland but still UK, 18 year old shoots his family. Be interesting to see how he got a hold of a gun.We have that in Scotland too (falls under the "inclusion" banner here). As idiotic as I agree such "equity" is, thankfully most kids here would have extreme difficulty sourcing a firearm.
