This Ringo Starr? Surely he has too much to do?
Anyway, despite such hilariously vacuous distractions, there are a few things which might actually be of substance going on. A
Scottish court has just ruled that Johnson broke the law and lied to the Queen when he shut down parliament.
All three first division judges have decided that the PM’s advice to the HM the Queen is justiciable, that it was motivated by the improper purpose of stymying parliament and that it, and what has followed from it, is unlawful.
Predictably, Farage is now bleating about judicial interference because a court ruled against the government. Mr Establishment, whining about what he calls the establishment because it ruled against the actual establishment.
And Johnson seems to be suggesting Scottish judges are biased against him (despite a Scottish judge ruling in favour of the establishment last week - this was an appeal which overturned it).
There will be another appeal on behalf of the government at the UK supreme court on Tuesday and I think they'll probably overturn this decision but we'll have to wait and see.
The fun times roll on.
-EDIT-
The Daily Mail never fails to oblige. On the bright side
this type of stuff does tend to increase support for Scottish independence:
Meanwhile, some more evidence of the "Left Wing case for Brexit" has been emerging:
And:
On top of all that, some documents the government did not want released have revealed some more "Left Wing benefits" of no-deal Brexit labeled "
Operation Yellowhammer" (no, I'm not making this up):
certain types of fresh food supply "will decrease" and "critical dependencies for the food chain" such as key ingredients "may be in shorter supply".
It says these factors would not lead to overall food shortages "but will reduce the availability and choice of products and will increase price, which could impact vulnerable groups".
The document also says low-income groups "will be disproportionately affected by any price rises in food and fuel".
Low income groups the worst affected? Yeah! That kind of talk makes us lefties feel all warm and fuzzy.
