Seems reasonable considering what "verified" is supposed to mean i.e. that the name of the tweeter is the verified name of the person posting. Elon does dumb things but enforcing the integrity of the "verified" mark and enforcing twitter's long standing rules against impersonation when not clearly marked as parody are not among those dumb things.

I've no idea if this is true of US fans but I can vouch that British fans absolutely make up designed-to-be-offensive songs to the extent that it's almost a sport within a sport.
