Old news for Ian he released an anti-climatology book in 2009 -http://abnnewswire.net/multimedia/en/60780/VIDEO:_Professor_Ian_Plimer_Author_of_Heaven_and_Earth_Global_Warming_The_Missing_Science_with_Brian_Carlton.html

Politics does not establish scientific validity.

    And the Daily Mail.

All that's missing is a Fox News opinion piece.

    Jim,

Thanks for dedicating another thread to me but this only reinforces what I said on the other thread.

I have two main points regarding the above. I don't really expect you to address either of them but I'll relate them anyway:

    1) First of all, Pilmer admits that global temperatures are rising. You cite this book to back up your view so seem to be agreeing with him, yet you now claim temperatures this decade are decreasing, whereas previously you seemed to be accepting the evidence of an increase. Your position is becoming absurdly inconsistent.
So that's point one: do you agree with this or not? If you think that global temperatures are decreasing, why cite a book that disagrees to back up your argument?

    2) I can only guess that you really are not aware that Pilmer's book is complete tosh that has been thoroughly debunked.

Kurt Lambeck, earth scientist and president of the Australian Academy of Science:
    or Earth scientist Andrew Glikson:

    and astronomer Michael Ashley:
and one which I saw and thought of you, by computer scientist and climate change commentator Tim Lambert:
    http://tbp.mattandrews.id.au/2009/06/06/debunking-plimer-heaven-and-earth/

Actually, I'd just prefer real news. Preferably something scientificly relevant.

Your fascination with Al Gore is not scientificly relevant news. You are absolutely obsessed with him and that tickles me but it's not news.
Please don't expect me to respond seriously to an attack on Al Gore as though it somehow negates real science. I've tried to explain this to you before but you seem unable to help yourself.

anyway, the point is that some people can't tell the difference between actual facts gathered by scientists and gossip gathered by idiots

No offense, but you rarely add anything to a conversation other than insults.

Great comment! Too bad the press here can't do anything more than gossip mongering.

Sadly we see things like this happening in the USA. In fact Fox News claimed first ammendment rights to allow them to lie when presenting the news. Fairly pathetic.
