Guerrilla surveillance camera destruction hits the U.S.

Here they would have broke in at night and cut out all the new plumbing you just installed, that's the main reason new homes here now use plastic plumbing

they steal the scrap metal because its basically untraceable, and very easy to sell at the local scrap yard, if there are no video cameras recording the theft, there will be no police investigation

so.. ur taking matters into ur own hands? could we talk about my piece of plastic before you zimmerman somebody over copper pipe? :D im guessing thats out of the question now... :D

People's wages have gone down and the value of the currency has gone down. The affordability of copper has fallen for some people and it's value therefore has gone up but this is more a function of the wealth (and income) distribution than of actual comparative value increasing.

they're always checking out construction sites, many times they find defective radiators from heavy equipment

Involves looping a chain around the those big copper radiators, tying the chain to back bumper, then jerking it off the equipment, but it then has the right look at the scrap yard

the god of fate will plague them with a series of unfortunate coincidences ...

I saved a newspaper clipping I have about an illegal Honduran, (found out later) I finally caught who had been robbing me for months,
he was stopping by once in a while and I let him air up his bicycle tires, then I came back one night at 1 am and caught him with the neighbors merchandise, they knew who he was.

So then he was forced to embark on his new career in grand theft auto, so he took a bus to San Antonio, stole a Toyota 4 Runner, and drove it back to Laredo, but at mile marker 30 he fell asleep at the wheel, ran off the road, was thrown from the vehicle, and wasn't found until 8 hours later ... dead

In the newspaper account they kept repeating it was illegal to be in front seat without a seat belt on, you could be ticketed, it was a $250 fine for not wearing a seat belt, and without a seat belt you could be thrown from vehicle in crash

What the article failed to mention was, he was an "illegal", he stole the vehicle! he wasn't worried about a ticket!, and he didn't have a drivers licence! he never drove, he always rode a bicycle! he didn't know how to drive!

Don't you love stories with a happy ending?

dont get urself shot.... it hurts... and for quite awhile....
LOL
a couple years ago the undercover BP agent told me there were threats being made to kill me
just because I was responsible for tips for 3 arrests a week, if they responded fast enough, they gave me the direct phone number to the dispatcher

I actually want to replace my copper with plastic. It's got some nice advantages.

That's what tends to get put in these days anyway around here. Cheaper for one thing. But getting stuff replaced is not cheap so I just get the new sections in plastic and replace sections that get pinholes. So far relatively few of those but it happens in Vancouver because we have very soft water. On the other hand, most of my pipe is from 1965 and maybe they made better copper pipe back then.

Generally when you get a pinhole you will end up with a ruined section of wall and then you'll have to fix it, but replacing pipe before it dies gives you most of the same problems :)

i replaced my whole house with pex plumbing system... cost effective, very simple and shutoffs at the hub and fixture make repairs a whole lot less messy...
