Consider it a new challenge :) BTW, the only reason others like Fluffy have a high count is because he talks too much, and the counts come from the earlier PHPBB installations.

Incidentally, how do I configure the settings so that the most recent posts in a thread are displayed first?

I've always been a big-endian kinda guy and having to reads from top to bottom confuses me :D

Yeah, I have to say that I'm really not happy with how the site is being managed. I thought it might be getting back on track after Franko was banned, but sadly someone in the a.o management isn't quite thinking straight...

I've never used this flavour of forum before AFAIK. It's quite pretty, but I have no idea how to use it!

yeah, I'm around a lot, actually. And while I look at AO I often don't post. Mostly because I have very little to add.

plus, now that franko has really become a bore, well............he sent me a stupid email. I blocked him from sending me more nonsense, and put his account on Ignore at AO. So, while he can no longer "bother" me there, his presence feels rather constricting.
I'm sure time will pass and it will improve.

it doesn't take long to figure it out......the alerts will help (upper right part of the page). It's lovely, isn't it???

What did he say?! He sent me a PM after I posted a rather long message about him but, well, meh...

Unfortunately the ignore function doesn't really cut it, as the disruption still occurs even if you can't read his responses :-/
