artistic skills with only one color of paint weren't great... but it got the point across... especially at 5 when the whole town drives by after work...:D

Video would also give you evidence. You're perfectly within your rights to video record on your own property. You're prefectly within your rights to video the pigs. Either could be admissible in court. We hope it doesn't come to that.

if it was me I'd have camera overlooking my property (or use the camera app from the link I posted earlier) and if they returned I'd take the video and post in for all the world to see what a bunch of assholes they are

i requested a copy of the dash cam recording... we will see...

none of it needed to even happen. but the chief of police and one of the gals at the city office conspired to chase a friend out of a business because her daughter in law wanted the building for herself. bout the third person that told me they had been approached by the cop "in uniform" telling them not to go there anymore, well that pissed me off. so i told the mom what was up and she went over to confront city lady. who didnt deny it, in fact just laughed. then the mom left and threatened to sue. was arrested. that made me even madder. so i called them and said that since they think its okay to ruin someones business for their own gain, i would too. every busload of tourists that get off i 70 and comes here and donates money should be allowed to be reminded of the illustrious past of our local historical treasure, and its complicity in covering up pedophiles.

well after i stuck my nose in it and before i put the sign up they came over, and said someone had called in to report a drug deal going on my alley. i asked him who and he said itd be in the police report which he has thus far refused to give me. he found no drugs. i told him this is starting to look like harrassment. and told him to go. he tried to linger. i reiterated my demand for him to vacate the property since he found no crime. he tried to linger. i became quite insistant and ordered him off the property. as i painted and installed the sign, they drove circles around my block.

ah... small town charm... i remember telling my dad how nice victoria looked from the interstate one time as we drove by, when i was young boy. without hesitation he quipped "they all look that way til you get off the offramp."

Just two blocks from the church? That IS ballsy. And ... oh my God ... St. Fiddles is right next to the elementary school? Is that Victoria's Secret?

i may make one that can be seen from google earth... is there anyway to find out when the image will be taken?

sadly in my line of work i have seen corruption and complicity between LEO and the rest of the "just us" system all too often, and more so here. its really quite sickening. sadly the apparatus established to deal with it, is comprised of the very people beholden to the rest.

The system of corruption is the same all the way up, differing only in numbers hurt. At each level up the game is more or less the same and at each layer the number of players is small. That's the fractal nature of the beast.

In the big mess of national politics the machinations of the statesmen can seem rather distant and mystical but I have always thought that small towns would help people see how corruption works right where they live and how it harms and, therefore, small town people would be more wary about who they chose for higher office and more watchful for signs of corruption.

My experience of small communities has so far been disappointing. Rather than trying to deal with corruption a mix of motivations prevent it. Some people really don't see it. Many people don't care because it doesn't negatively affect them, just "other" people and plenty of people seem to feel it is more important to show loyalty to the local big wigs to a) avoid trouble or b) share in the spoils.

So long as people remain selfish, isolated and self interested corruption is self perpetuating. Only by creating a cohesive block of like minded individuals can break this sort of power but they must be people of very high principle because threats and bribes are powerful inducements to treachery. In some situations a successful union requires even harsher internal discipline to succeed than the potential threats made by the out group. It can be a bit of a catch 22.
