Yes, perhaps back in the day, provided that Jesus Christ was ever a historical figure, one could have heard a disciple ask, in Aramaic, of course, "Hey Jesus, how's the missus?"

That, at least, is the implication of a little scrap of papyrus.

this assumes there's proof jesus (the historical person) existed.

And they're probably safe and sound deep in the catacombs of the Vatican - far out of reach from you and me.
even if there were proof of a historical jesus there sure isn't proof of his being 'god'

IIRC the Romans have some record of him.
If you are speaking about the bits in Josephus that were added to the text very much later to forge a historical record, but then, is forgery after the fact much in the way of evidence?

Whether the Christian religion is based on an actual person or not, it doesn't really change the fact that it's all a myth. Fact is much of human history is based on lose accounts.

Err.. Sorta. The Roman record is from Josephus supposedly around 100AD. I say supposedly because we don't have his actual work. We have hand written copies from around the 11th Century. While we do have other records of trials and births from Jesus' era he's missing from those. Needless to say there's contention that the Roman record truly existed (eg created during the copying which has happened) OR even that Josephus was recording a belief as he didn't witness it first hand.

There is no convincing evidence the Jesus ever existed. However, as has already been pointed out, even if there was indisputable proof that he did exist, it would say nothing about whether he had any supernatural powers.

As for him being married, well, fictional people get married all the time. :D

True, but in a funny way, this link by fluffy actually provides evidence that he was a real person and yet at the same time provides evidence that he was married. From a historical point of view it's rather interesting, but from a religious point of view it might be kinda troubling - in which case Christians will do what they do best and just ignore the evidence.

I think you have a low bar for what constitutes evidence. We have much more evidence that Zeus was married but I don't think it has made him any more real.

Further, if you read the article there is opinion that the kind of marriage this Jesus was talking about might not be the kind of marriage we think about. This appears to be from one of the gnostic gospels and, apparently, some gnostics had an idea of a "wife" as almost a female servant who cooks and does the wash, but who is not to be "known", as it were.

It's not to surprising that those sorts of gnostics aren't around any more. Sects that forbid procreation never last long.

As to:
Christians will do what they do best and just ignore the evidence
The Jesus of the bible isn't the Jesus most Christians believe in anyway. Every Christian creates their own Jesus from cherry picked bits and pieces - part Santa Claus, part Superman, or whatever appeals to them - a personal Jesus who believes what they believe and will look after them.

...an idea of a "wife" as almost a female servant who cooks and does the wash....
sounds like a typical marriage to me

hey, don't look at me
never been married :D

Does any one know the Chains address I want to send them a card?

Pretty sure those gnostics got it exactly backwards. I can do my own washing and cooking, thanks.

im actually kind of "put off" by somebody offering either of those "services" for me... im a grown man... i can clean up after and feed myself... no pressing need for further blocks of instruction.... although im always curious about betterment at any skill... :D
