Military Pricing comes to Healthcare

last night - between 8Pm and 4Am - the neighborhood got sprayed to prevent spread of the West Nile Virus. obviously i don't live in a swamp but apparently there's been some concern. So we got a phone call (automated) informing us to keep the windows closed during those times and NOT go outside.

passed a very peaceful evening knowing that despite some annoying corruption my local government DOES actually provide for useful services. Yes, I can depend on clean water. As I reported this spring the road in front on my home was milled and paved (as well as a few other roads nearby). The house next door which has been empty since bush now has been bought and construction has been going on. I can get food that is locally grown. Businesses are looking for employees. etc

THIS is what government is for.
yes, things are better than they were four years ago.
and i don't "depend" on government for anything in my personal life. But if the basics are taken care of - water, electricity, roads, and so on, I'm fine.

would it be fabulous if nearly everyone had access to heath care? Sure.
It would benefit me even if I never stepped foot in a doctors office. maybe if one of my colleagues had been able to get medical care on a regular basis he would not have died from brain cancer and I could still be working with him. Yeah, people being healthy enough to live longer and better so they could add to the creativity of the world. call me crazy but I think THAT is a good thing.

I'll never understand why hating people is considered acceptable from people who "Claim" to be Christians
