"On the day I took office, our auto industry was on the verge of collapse. Some even said we should let it die. With a million jobs at stake, I refused to let that happen," the president said. "Today, General Motors is back on top as the world's No. 1 automaker." President Obama, May 2012

“I said I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back, Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.” President Obama, Pueblo CO, Aug 2012

GM headed for bankruptcy ... Again!

@Metalman,

I assume you were using the 'Sermon of the Mount' and the related Christian concept of 'Works of Mercy' to express the love for your neighbors by including those pictures.

Except it's actually Obama pushing Grannie over the cliff

ObamaCare robbed Medicare of 716 Billion dollars

Then Obamacare counts the same 716 Billion in Medicare savings twice! Once to allegedly extend the solvency of Medicare, and again to pay for Obamacare’s massive new subsidies for private health insurance through the exchanges.

Perhaps metalman derives his political views from the idea that the poor and the meek shall inherit the earth therefore the more people become poor and meek the better - hence vote Republican.

So Romney is in favour of entitlements?

Just read the article. The headline blares ...
Romney’s right: Obamacare cuts Medicare by $716 billion. Here’s how.

How indeed? Well, it cuts payments to hospitals and it cuts subsidies to private insurers. At the end of the page we find out what it doesn't cut. And what is it that the plan doesn't cut? Medicare benefits.

And the big sales pitch for Romney is ... Ryan's budget won't cut that either. Hmm. Maybe Romney's slogan should be: Vote for me; I'm completely the same.

We had the RNC in Minnesota in 2008. 800 arrests, most let go because you can legally exercise your right to free expression. The vast majority of charged people were found to be not guilty. It was clear the police forces purpose was to silence opposition in the name of 'keeping the peace'. (The funniest were the signs at the Airport displaying the 'Larry Craig' Bathroom for visitors.)

Love the Code Pink protest style! They should get an award for new and creative uses of First Ammendment Rights.

Obama is the "food stamp" President! there are now almost 45 million Americans getting food stamps, or as officially known , Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients. That’s one out of every seven citizens.

Oops! "food stamps" is a dog whistle

So how does it save the 716 billion? Same benefits, it just doesn't pay the bills! What a plan!!

Obama didn't make them poor - but he is feeding them. What would you suggest? That they starve? Feeding the hungry or turning your back - which is more Jesus Christy in your book?

Because Obama can't see the problems with unions.

Why is GM still building cars in Europe?

Quote
"Critics point out that GM's European unit has been posting annual losses topping $1 billion, which means the company's North American operations are effectively funding the losses in Europe, where German unions appear to have a stranglehold on company plants."

Opel in Europe

Quote
"Shuttering the business is not an easy option either. The company employs 38,000 people in Europe, half of them in Germany. The dealer network in Germany alone employs another 30,000. Any major cuts would face huge resistance from political leaders and labor unions, which have a legal right in Germany to be consulted on job reductions."

What I like about this chart is it shows Jan-2009-Fall 2009 period. Obama was sworn in and the Country was running under the last Bush approved Budget during this time. It wasn't until Fall 2009 when the first full Obama signed Budget was in effect. We can clearly see from that point on jobs have made a slightly rough and slow recovery. Had we done the McCain plan, aka more of the same, that chart would have kept growing. So Thanks.

The other thing I like here is during this period US families have seen the lowest taxes in the last 40 years. While US Businesses have some of the lowest taxes in the world. If we look at a stock market graph we'll see it increasing. Strangely giving lower taxes to the wealthy isn't encouraging them to hire more people? Creating more trickle down will result in the same... aka no trickle down.

As for Food Stamps you do realize that Jesus told us that in the end times all nations must stand before God. And that Christ is most in us when we take care of the weakest and downtrodden in our societies. Do you not want the nation to do God's work and take care of our impoverished? Along with caring for the poor Jesus also said there will be poor always.

Why must you always be so irrelevant. Obama didn't make them poor. Tell me why are they poor? Do you remember?
Not having a job makes people poor
No Job creation => High Unemployment => household income reduced => more poor
basic economics 101
